Sartori Colonoscopy

16 Jun

I was very impressed with the care I received this morning at Sartori Memorial Hospital. From scheduling an elective procedure on a Saturday, to the front desk check-in, excellent nursing care and Dr. Mujica’s bedside manner. I cannot think of any ways to improve my experience.

Thanks to everyone!!

Surgical Experience

21 May

This past Friday was my first surgical experience in twenty years and I was a mess! I had a uterine fibroid giving me all kinds of trouble, and Dr. Girardi, recommended its removal.

I’m not sure what I was scared of now having gone through it.

From the pre-admission screening with Julie, RN to my post-op experience, everything went swimmingly. Julie called and said we could do pre-admission over the phone as no blood work was ordered, saving me an early trip in the day before surgery.

Brandy, my admitting nurse, was calm and collected, even amidst my obvious anxiety. She did her job efficiently and expertly and in quick time.

My OR nurses, Diana, Kari and Carin were all pleasant, although I did not have a lot of interaction with them before the anesthesiologist made me go nighty-night.

My post-op nurses, Leah and Tasha were on the ball, especially when my BP started to plummet, apparently from a blocked IV that required flushing.

Although I was hesitant and scared for the procedure, the care that I received quickly outshone the fears that I had, and I would recommend the care of this staff to anyone who had to surgery. From admission to post-op I was in and out in four hours time and home for weekend recovery.

Top-notch, this crew!

Thank you so very much!

First Surgical Experience

1 May

After 70 years of no surgical procedure of any kind, I recently had a hernia surgery at Sartori. The experience was so positive, I feel obligated to comment. Marj, Julie, Nancy, Lisa and Allison were so kind and helpful, way beyond what should be expected. The anesthesist and surgeon could not have performed their services any better, and both demonstrated genuine care and interest in me as a patient. My recovery was such that I never needed any pain medication, not even an aspirin! Thank you for the wonderful care provided by my hometown hospital.

Recent Surgery

7 Apr

Coming in for surgery is never a fun thing to do but I can honestly say the experience at Covenant made my recent hernia surgery a piece of cake. With a 5:00 a.m. arrival time and 7:00 a.m. surgery, the night before was filled with its share of anxiety and sleeplessness. From the moment I arrived until late morning discharge the ambulatory staff was exceptional.

A thank you to Cindi and Nancy in pre-op for making me feel at ease and removing the morning jitters.

Wayne, a great ride to x-ray for the pictures and thanks for the relaxing conversation.

Dr. Salamanca (Anesthesiologist), Mallisa and Sara (operating room) you all were very courteous and professional. And also thanks for a little injected humor.

Post-op care from Danette (Danny) was first rate and a special thanks to Deb for the much needed great cup of coffee and toast and help after discharge.

And finally, I would like to thank Dr. Wait, his nurse Deb and office staff. Dr Wait provided me with a thorough explanation of my procedure, made me feel comfortable and he has an excellent bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone.

Covenant, keep up the great work. Your entire staff was very accomodating to my wife and I from arrival to discharge.

Cardiac Rehab

14 Mar

In July of 2012 I experienced a heart attack while out of town which resulted in stent placement and the Cardiac Rehab program at Covenant. The exceptional staff were great in getting me on the right track for a healthier me! On February 5, 2014, I had another stent placed and again the cardiac staff had me back on my fitness track within a week! THIS is what great is made of…professional, dedicated, positive, caring people who love doing what they do best! Thank you, Staff, for another success story for me….
